The Bach to Blues annual Christmas Concert will be held Dec. 6 at Christ Church Anglican at 7:30 p.m.

Proceeds will go to the Whitchurch-Stouffville Emergency Care Fund to help our neighbours who are coping with emergency situations such as fires, car accidents, illnesses or a death in the family. The fund was launched last fall with $1,000 in donations from the Royal Bank of Canada and the mayor’s charity golf tournament.

Its role is to complement the good work already being done by churches, service clubs, food banks and other institutions. A committee of local residents reviews requests and decides on funding.

Donations can be made at RBC, 28 Sandiford Dr. or at the town office. The fund has helped a homeless person with lodgings, a child whose family did not have coverage for emergency dental work, and a resident unable to work before and after major surgery.

Bach to Blues is always looking for new members. If you love to sing, call 905-649-2684 and come out and give the choir a try. Rehearsals are held Tuesday nights at 7:30 at the Stouffville United Church on Church Street.

Tickets for the Christmas Concert are $10 for adults and $5 for children and will be available at the door or by calling 905-640-5999.
