Lions Christmas Basket Project kicks off Dec. 1
While Christmas is a happy time for many, others are struggling just to put food on the table.
The Stouffville Lions annual Christmas Basket Project offers a helping hand by collecting toys and non-perishable food items and delivering them to local needy families.
Donations of new, unwrapped toys, along with food items, can be dropped off at the following locations during business hours: the Town offices on Sandiford Dr., Lebovic Leisure Centre lobby, TD Bank, ScotiaBank, Pace Credit Union and the fire hall on Main Street. Contributions will be received until Dec. 20.
Those needing assistance this Christmas can pick up forms at the Town offices or the Chamber of Commerce at the train station on Main Street. The club also appreciates confidential referrals, which will be processed with discretion.
For information on this year’s project, call Clare Palmer at 905-640-4087 or John Relph at 905-642-4323. Any toys left over from the drive will be donated to the Jennifer Ashleigh Foundation and used during First Night celebrations downtown.
