Doors Open seeks new venues
Doors Open Whitchurch-Stouffville is a celebration of community heritage, offering visitors and residents the opportunity to explore some of our historical and noteworthy buildings and facilities.
Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum is hosting the event for the third year and is seeking new venues to participate in Doors Open 2010, which takes place June 5. Among last year’s highlights were The Latcham Gallery, WhiStle Radio, Nineteen on the Park and Bruce’s Mill. Other attractions included Richmond Hill Live Steamers, a miniature railway, and a historic walking tour of the town centre.
Doors Open sites must be of historic, architectural or cultural significance and can include commercial buildings, churches, fire halls, industrial sites and private homes. Heritage gardens and natural heritage sites are also eligible. For more information visit www.doorsopenws.ca.
Anyone who is interested in learning more about Doors Open or who would like to suggest their own venue, is asked to call Krista Rauchenstein, program coordinator at the museum at 1-888-290-0337.
